Buddies And Friends

Buddies

A Buddy is a fancy name for someone who cannot host, but who can help the host families and with the children's activity programme. As the name suggests, buddies are paired with host families, and both work together to ensure that the Belarusian children have a great visit.

Buddies are CRB checked in the same way as host families.

Typical things a buddy might do include: helping to drive the children to an activity programme and helping while there, "Babysitting", and sometimes caring for the children for a weekend when the host family is away unavoidably.

Some Buddies also host the Belarusian adult interpreter and often form life-long friendships as a result.

Friends

Friends include all the healthcare professionals who help us, and all those many people who have fun with us and help us to raise money. Our "friends" never have sole responsibilty for the children, and therefore do not have to be CRB checked.

Go on...join a new group of friends in this country and in Belarus!
